LEED Silver certified community health center with green infrastructure features brings services to a city’s south side
The City of Columbus, Columbus Department of Health, the Columbus Neighborhood Health Center, and The Ohio State University collaborated to develop a new community health and wellness clinic on South Parsons Avenue to serve the citizens of South Columbus. The project is envisioned by all stakeholders as a catalyst within a larger site re-development context as bounded by Parsons, Washington, Innis and Barthman Avenues and continued reinvestment along the Parsons Avenue corridor.
The site development included streetscape improvements along Parsons, Reeb and Barthman Avenues, on-site and on-street parking accommodations, bike parking, and pedestrian connectivity to public transit and surrounding neighborhoods. Green infrastructure features include rain gardens and permeable pavements throughout the entries and parking area.
MKSK provided site planning for the overall development framework and schematic design through construction for the Center site.
