Final Plan
A community-centered planning process brought together two communities to spur economic development, urban activation, and diverse programming through a collective branding and identity strategy
MKSK served as the lead Urban Design consultant to The Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce to develop a new Master Plan for both neighborhoods. In collaboration with Firebelly and Big Buzz Idea Group, and in partnership with Chamber staff, their Board of Directors and the SSA #27 Commission, the design team led a planning process focused on discovery, analysis, and engagement to help outline the community’s vision for the future of their neighborhoods.
The comprehensive neighborhood-wide Master Plan is a critical component of the community’s approach to strengthening neighborhood connectivity, positive activation and economic growth to bring these two neighborhoods together under the umbrella of the Chamber. Core to the culture of the Lakeview and Roscoe Village communities is a community-centered culture which is likewise instrumental in the development of recommendations within the final Master Plan.
Final Plan recommendations include a series of public realm and streetscape improvement projects as well as an Action Plan outlining feasible future steps towards implementation, a branding and identity study, and an Events and Programming analysis with recommendations for future event prioritization and planning.
