Community Outreach
The Community Impact Studio at MKSK strives to advance the public good by fostering meaningful opportunities to facilitate, participate, and champion MKSK volunteerism, to address unmet community needs and positively impact the lives of under-resourced populations.
MKSK also leads an outreach program to work with organizations and schools in underrepresented neighborhoods to expose youth to the landscape architecture and planning professions.

Our Research Projects
The MKSK Research & Innovation Studio advances our collective knowledge and helps to fuel curiosity and creative innovation. We encourage the exploration of big questions and ideas and support research endeavors within projects and to further our expertise.
We live in an era of growth and change. Our human population is the largest of all times, our cities bigger than ever and growing exponentially, and our technology the most advanced we have ever seen. It is an exciting time to live and work, full of shifting paradigms, opportunities and challenging issues. To practice design and planning in this environment calls for a thoughtful balance between familiar practice techniques and innovation.
