Chicago Architecture Center's Girls Build! Day

MKSK

Empowering girls to design boldly, build creatively, and imagine the future of our cities.

MKSK was honored to collaborate with the makers at BitSpace for the Chicago Architecture Center’s Girls Build! Day, where we asked girls to “Design Your World.”

The annual CAC event engages girls in grades 6–12 to develop design skills and connect with women who are shaping the future of Landscape Architecture, Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, Engineering, and Construction. CAC’s Girls Build! is a part of The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Youth Learning Programs.

Creativity flourished and color popped in girl-built scenes that used abstract pattern stamps, laser-cut pieces, and fun 3D-printed charms! The day opened the door to meaningful collaboration of design ideas and fabrication—to empower and learn from these young voices.

We are grateful for the opportunity to work with this amazing program and look forward to future years of educating the next generation of architects and designers at Girls Build!
