Creating a cultural campus for Greenville’s growing music scene.
In 2021, MKSK began a collaboration with Craig Gaulden Davis in developing a Master Plan for the campus of the Peace Center, creating a vision that strengthens the performing arts center’s role as the epicenter of arts, entertainment, education, and community in Upstate South Carolina.
The plan’s recommendations outline the most significant investment in Greenville’s music scene in over 30 years. The improvements focus on diversifying and enhancing the patron and performer experience throughout the Peace Center.
Building on the Master Plan, MKSK has continued to work with the Peace Center in designing campus improvements around the two new music venues, the Mockingbird and Coach Factory, and a landscape around the historic Wyche mill building that serves as Greenville’s premier open air event venue. Situated in the heart of downtown along the Reedy River, these campus improvements support both the cultural programs of the Peace Center and enhance the quality of public greenspace in the urban core.
