Plan guides future development of a city’s core, to provide an 18-hour mixed-use district and activate the riverfront

Beginning in 2013, MKSK led the Bridge Street District Scioto River Corridor Framework Plan in collaboration with City of Dublin, which develops the urban design principles for an authentic, urban, mixed-use district in the heart of the city of Dublin.

Through several years of strategic planning and community input, MKSK assisted the city in identifying, visualizing, and prioritizing the Scioto River and surrounding Historic District as the initial focal area for public investment within the 1,100-acre Bridge Street District.

The Framework Plan advances a bold vision for future development of the area by identifying initial catalytic projects for the transformation of the district and has served as a tool to guide the transition from planning concepts to design and engineering.

The Framework Plan led to investments in infrastructure and open space design. MKSK has continued into implementation as the Landscape Architect for several projects including the Riverside Drive Relocation, SR-161/Bridge Street Roundabout, Pedestrian Bridge, John Shields Parkway, Riverside Crossing Park (2021, Prime Consultant), and an additional 1.5+ miles of roadway on either side of the River that includes public roadways within the redevelopment district on the east side and the historic district on the west side.

Bridge Park, Dublin’s newest urban, walkable neighborhood complements, the city’s vibrant Historic Downtown. Spanning 30 acres along the Scioto River, Bridge Park builds upon Dublin’s rich history of iconic developments and ushers in a new era as a social, commercial, and experiential destination. Integrating retail and residential uses within a walkable and inviting neighborhood, Bridge Park features condominium homes and apartments, a boutique market, retail, office, hotels and conference center.

The Link pedestrian bridge connects the redevelopment district on the east side of the Scioto River which includes Bridge Park and Riverside Crossing Park, with the downtown historic district on the west side.
