Andy understands how thought-provoking design adds value to the public realm. This understanding is incorporated into a team-wide approach toward the design of evocative public space.

As a Principal at MKSK, Andy Knight has displayed consistent commitment to innovative design, blurring boundaries between landscape architecture and civic art, placemaking and social infrastructure, city planning and urban design.

His professional passion is rooted in the optimism that Landscape Architects have a unique opportunity to positively impact our collective communities and ecologies through forward-thinking approaches to design. Combining visionary planning and design ingenuity, Andy has led projects ranging from cities and campuses, districts and neighborhoods, plazas and parkways, to waterfront parks and greenways. Realized over 22 years in the field, his diverse portfolio demonstrates design excellence in every sense: socially, ecologically, culturally, and economically. He is acutely entrenched in the implementation of each project and emphasizes the importance of detail in realizing great design.

Believing design leadership is also an opportunity to share knowledge with peers and the broader community, Andy has lectured on waterfront planning and campus design across the country, and been a panelist for the future of library design. Additionally, he has also served as a faculty member for the Landscape Architecture programs at The Ohio State University and the University of Kentucky.
