Combining his passion for design and experience in urban planning to craft plans that energize communities

Luis Calvo is an Associate Principal with MKSK, with more than 10 years of experience as a project manager and community engagement lead for complex, multidisciplinary, planning projects. Based out of MKSK’s Atlanta Office, Luis is focused on energizing communities across the Southeast, Midwest, and Western United States. With expertise and passion for downtown environments and park district planning, Luis has led downtown and district-level plans for cities of all sizes, including Lexington, KY; Columbia, SC; Decatur, GA; Smyrna, GA; Akron, OH; and Park City, UT.

Born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia, Luis brings a global perspective to his work and understands that cities and downtowns are more than places where people live and work. They are reflections of who we are as a people. His practice is focused on mobilizing residents, stakeholders, and leaders through creative and impassioned engagement to shape the places they call home.
