Chicago, IL – Senior Technical Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with PICs, project managers, and design teams to guide technical design approach, documentation standards, QA/QC processes, and interdisciplinary coordination throughout all project phases.

·         Develop and communicate technical solutions addressing complex project opportunities / challenges in drawings, specifications, procurement, budgets and value management, resulting in well-executed built work with attention to craft and detail.

  • Collaborate with firm leaders to advance the constant pursuit of design excellence based on our firm’s mission and values.

  • Develop craft-focused tools and processes to ensure quality and accuracy in construction documentation and construction administration.

  • Produce outstanding client-based deliverables and solutions for each project with an emphasis on technical and construction aspects of landscape architecture

  • Provide proactive and consistent management of staff performance to ensure adherence to budget and quality standards.

  • Empower and mentor individuals to serve our clients in a professional, productive, and collaborative manner and to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Take initiative for involvement in internal firmwide activities and committees.

  • Support project administration by developing delivery-focused workplans, monitoring scope, and schedules

  • Lead construction administration oversight and management on a wide range of project typologies and scales.

  • Advance firmwide technical performance by evaluating lessons learned to continuously improve delivery outcomes.

  • Required proficiency in Microsoft office, AutoCAD, CSI Specifications

  • Experience with SpecLink and Revit preferred 

  • Ability to travel for field visits

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture required.

  • 10-15 years of professional experience.

  • Landscape Architectural Licensure.
