Creating a signature linear park and greenway that is uniquely Dublin

MKSK is leading a multidisciplinary team on a feasibility study for the City of Dublin’s Signature Trail. First identified in the Envision Dublin Comprehensive Plan, this ambitious project aims to create a vibrant, active transportation route that is uniquely Dublin. With no defined path, the MKSK team was tasked with routing and designing an approximately eight-mile east-west greenway connector that creates an immersive experience along roadways and through riparian corridors while linking key community destinations.

Inspired by celebrated destination trails across the country and globe, Dublin’s Signature Trail will serve as the backbone of the city’s active transportation network. The Signature Trail will be broad in scope and function, integrating distinctive design elements such as lighting, public art, unique forms, and high-quality materials. It will remove key connectivity barriers through grade separations and provide multiple access points and trailheads.

Each segment of the corridor will reflect a unique placemaking identity shaped by its context, ensuring the trail complements and enhances the surrounding community. More than a pathway, the Signature Trail will activate the landscapes and neighborhoods it traverses, providing residents and visitors with a meaningful, connected, and memorable experience.

True to Dublin’s legacy of bold, transformative projects, this trail will set a new standard for recreational infrastructure in the region.
