Conducting a planning study to define the future development character and opportunities for a City-owned 5-acre site in Park City
With a rich history that includes a previous proposal for an Arts and Culture District with homes for the Kimball Art Center and Sundance Institute, this new process is guided by the Park City community to establish a vision for the site that reflects the desires of Park City residents, businesses, and stakeholders, and is supportive of existing neighborhood character in the area.
This effort will consider the needs and wants of the community and will be grounded by market reality and feasibility, including but not limited to changes in the economic market, affordable housing, transportation and mobility, and site accessibility. A robust engagement that includes community meetings, online surveys, and on-the-ground activities, will ensure that a diverse range of voices are heard throughout the planning process, with many opportunities for feedback on ideas and materials produced by the project team.
Running in tandem with a larger planning effort for the surrounding area, the Bonanza Park Small Area Plan, this feasibility study will both inform, and be influenced by, the needs and constraints of its surroundings. Grounded in market reality through a market analysis and study, the resulting vision will identify the feasibility of a redevelopment concept that has community support and is economically feasible.
