Rita believes the best cities are places where people feel welcome, connected, and inspired. She is passionate about integrating placemaking, public art, and thoughtful urban design into the built environment to create vibrant public spaces that celebrate local history, embrace cultural diversity, and strengthen communities.
Rita is currently pursuing a Master of City Planning at the University of Pennsylvania. Her interests include comprehensive planning, site planning, zoning reform, and the relationship between human settlements, water, and natural systems. She enjoys working with communities to create resilient, inclusive, and engaging places. She received the American Planning Association (APA) Outstanding Student Award upon graduating from the University of Virginia.
