With more than 25 years of experience leading landscape architecture and urban design projects, Matt is focused on immersive storytelling through design. Through crafting human-centered experiences and vibrant public spaces, his work strengthens communities and inspires meaningful connections. His expertise spans a diverse range of project types, including parks, urban spaces, streetscapes, hospitality environments, and urban design initiatives.
Matt’s upbringing in Ohio and experiences living across several different regions throughout the United States has fostered a deep appreciation for the history, culture, and character that defines communities. He believes meaningful practice begins with understanding the unique context of a place—its stories, people, and traditions—and is committed to strengthening the identity and long-term vitality of the communities he serves.
Known for his collaborative approach, Matt brings together diverse perspectives and builds alignment around a shared vision. By uncovering the narratives that shape a place and engaging stakeholders throughout the design process, he helps create healthy, connected environments that support well-being, inspire engagement, and foster a lasting sense of belonging.
As COO, Matt helps shape the future of MKSK by fostering alignment across the firm's national practice and advancing a shared One MKSK culture. He is dedicated to developing strong, synchronized teams, creating pathways for professional growth through mentorship, and bolstering organizational performance through thoughtful leadership and operational excellence.
