MKSK Selected to Bring Arena District Expertise to Tulsa

MKSK

MKSK has been selected by the City of Tulsa, Oklahoma, to create a master plan for a new signature urban district that will connect the BOK Center and Cox Business Center to Downtown Tulsa.

BOK Center is an award winning, 20,000 seat sports and concert venue designed by international architect César Pelli and opened in 2008 as a centerpiece of the city’s Vision 2025 project, and Cox Business Center is currently undergoing a $50 million renovation and expansion. Now the goal is to activate the area around these assets and to spur economic development on the stretch between the Arena District and Downtown.

MKSK is a national leader in entertainment district planning – we were and continue to be the master planners for the award-winning Nationwide Arena District in Columbus, Ohio – and we are excited to help Tulsa’s leaders and citizens envision a new trademark district that will connect community assets and build upon over $1 billion in investment in Downtown Tulsa over the past 8 years.

MKSK’s team (which includes HR&A Advisors, Kolar Design, Groundswell, Wallace Engineering, The Columbus Architectural Studio, and Zakerion PR) was chosen from a group of fourteen proposals from around the country.
