Eric Lucas

CEO, Principal, ASLA, PLA, Board of Directors

Eric is inspired to improve our cities’ complex socioeconomic situations and the relationship to ever-changing land and water resources.

Eric grew up in Indiana, surrounded by expansive landscapes and suburbia. This imprint of physical pattern spurred him to visit places around the globe to better understand other cultures, how people connect with where they live, and the impacts we all have on our natural and built environments. In his daily practice, Eric seeks to uncover special qualities of each place to inform planning and design solutions. People and their interaction with place drive him to address the critical social, economic, cultural, and ecological issues that society faces. In the span of his career Eric has overseen projects of all scales and types, ranging from the design of postage stamp-sized urban plazas to the planning of new cities, in over twenty states and three continents. Eric practices optimistically, believing that we can do better for our world through sincere engagement, innovative ideas, and sustainable solutions. In addition to his passion for the profession, Eric can be found traveling, spending time with his family – including sipping cocktails with his wife on the patio and jumping with his daughter on the backyard trampoline, listening to music, trying out a new barbecue recipe, and giving back to his community.
