Plan guides future development of a city’s core to provide a 24-hour destination and activate the riverfront
In 2013, MKSK led the Bridge Street District Scioto River Corridor Framework Plan in collaboration with City of Dublin, which develops the urban design principles for an authentic, urban, mixed-use district in the heart of the city of Dublin.
Through several years of strategic planning and community input, MKSK assisted the city in identifying, visualizing, and prioritizing the Scioto River and surrounding Historic District as the initial focal area for public investment within the 1,100-acre Bridge Street District. The Framework Plan advances a bold vision for future development of the area by identifying initial catalytic projects for the transformation of the district and has served as a tool to guide the transition from planning concepts to design and engineering.
The Framework Plan led to investments in infrastructure and open space design. MKSK has continued into implementation as the Landscape Architect for several projects in design, under construction, or completed including leading a multidiscipliary team in the development of a new riverfront park:
SR 161/Riverside Drive Roundabout
Riverside Drive Relocation
John Shields Parkway
Riverside Crossing Park
Streetscapes and open spaces as part of the new Bridge Park private development (in process)
